On 1 October 2015, the MFC and 24 financial institutions are launching the 2015 Borrow Wisely Campaign across 15 countries in Europe and Central Asia. Our aim is to educate thousands of existing and potential microfinance clients on how take on safe and responsible levels of debt.

In October, we’re kicking off our second annual Borrow Wisely Campaign! This year, 24 leading financial institutions will work across 15 countries in the ECA region to improve clients’ financial literacy levels. Following on from last year’s success, the Campaign has become an annual event.

This month, 20 Financial Education trainers received their certification in Azerbaijan, as part of our joint work with the AMFA Network to develop female entrepreneurship in the country. This landmark event follows a series of 27 trainings for 513 women from 11 regions, based on the MFC’s Plan your Future financial education module.
The Call for expressions of interest to select financial intermediaries under the Guarantee Financial Instrument of the Programme for Employment and Social Innovation (“EaSI”) has been launched.
